Free Bagels & Blood Pressure
The FREE Bagels & Blood Pressure program is starting back up on October 10th from 10:00 am to 12 Noon at the Old Forge Volunteer Ambulance Corps building on the corner of Spring Street and State Route 28 in Old Forge. All are welcome.
One of the many resources attending this event is the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, Inc. (MVCAA) which will be presenting their Weatherization Program.
Weatherization Assistance Program:
The Weatherization Assistance Program provides low-income homeowners and renters with energy conservation and assistance for their home. It improves the health and safety of the customer through home improvement projects.
Weatherization Assistance Program provides the following services*:
- A complete energy audit of the home
- Diagnostic testing of the heating system
- Attic, sidewall, and perimeter insulation
- Weather-stripping, and door sweeps on existing doors
- Some door replacements
- Air sealing
- EnergyStar rated refrigerator replacements
- Installation of CO detectors, and smoke detectors
*Weatherization is not an emergency service program; all new applicants are placed on a waiting list
